Mean Well has introduced a new 25 W AC-DC LED power supply with active power factor correction and constant current output. The PLD-25 series is targeted at lower-wattage applications for the indoor/decorative lighting market.

With a simplified, single-stage PFC topology, a power factor above 0,9 can be achieved economically. Efficiency of the power supplies is as high as 86%, allowing them to operate between -30°C and +60°C using free air convection alone. With two-wire input design, these LED drivers are enclosed by a plastic case with 94V-0 fire resistance level which also protects users against dangerous electric shock.

Standard functions include short circuit, overload and over-temperature protections. The new models are equipped with 7,5 cm/#18 AWG and 15 cm/#18 AWG input/output wires to enable flexible installation in various systems. The units comply with global lighting certificates per UL8750 and EN61347, CE (EN55015 and EN61547) and FCC Part 18.
