Maxim has introduced the MAX9636–MAX9638, rail-to-rail, low-noise operational amplifiers (op-amps). Offered in 6-pin SC70 (single), 8-pin SC70 (dual) and 10-pin UTQFN (dual) packages, these devices exploit Maxim’s proprietary BiCMOS process technology and design architectures to achieve a desirable combination of size, low-noise performance, bandwidth and supply current. With 38 nV/ input-voltage noise density, 0,9 fA/ input-current noise density, and 0,1 pA input bias current, the devices facilitate interfacing to high-impedance sources such as photodiode and piezoelectric sensors.
Designed to operate from a 2,1 V to 5,5 V supply, the MAX9636–MAX9638 are ideal for sensor interfaces in portable medical applications that demand low noise and low quiescent current. They extend battery life with a quiescent current of only 36 μA. An optimised ratio of gain bandwidth (GBW) to supply current allows the devices to support 1,5 MHz bandwidth. The MAX9636 and MAX9638 also offer a low-power shutdown mode that reduces supply current to 1 μA.
The ICs are fully specified for operation over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range.
