FPGA development kit

8 June 2011 Design Automation

Lattice Semiconductor is targeting its LatticeECP3 Versa development kit at development of leading-edge applications in a variety of markets such as industrial networking, industrial automation, computing, medical equipment, defence and consumer electronics.

The kit includes hardware, software, reference designs and IP that enable users to rapidly develop next-generation systems.

The Versa development kit allows users to inexpensively evaluate the capabilities of high-value design blocks in LatticeECP3 FPGAs, such as configurable SERDES, cascadable DSP slices and high-speed DDR3 memory controllers. Designers outgrowing the capabilities of traditional microcontrollers and DSPs can use the kit to address high-speed design challenges in applications such as video transmission and repeaters, video image signal processing, camera controllers, network traffic management and resilient network construction, solar panel controllers and data acquisition and control.

The complete Versa package includes the LatticeECP3 Versa evaluation board, seven demonstration systems, 16 free reference designs and an evaluation licence for Lattice Diamond 1.2 design software for use with the Versa Kit only.
