RECOM has released a new range of isolated AC-DC power supply modules with low standby input currents, well suited for low-power applications or standby power supplies.
The RAC01 and RAC02 offer 1 W or 2 W of output power from a universal input voltage of 90-265 V a.c. and draw only 30 mW in standby. The RAC03 offers a higher output power of 3 W and draws 80 mW when unloaded. Typical applications include low-power supplies for clocks, remote control receivers, microcontroller circuits, wireless control systems or as relay drivers to switch higher power AC/DC supplies that otherwise could not meet green power/Energy Star regulations.
The modules offer well regulated, short-circuit protected DC outputs with 3,3 V, 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V or 24 V voltage options and a line and load regulation of typically ±2%. Conversion efficiency is up to 78%, which enables an operating temperature range of -25°C to +85°C for the 1 W part, reducing to +80°C for the 2 W and 3 W variants. The converters are designed for a lifetime of more than 1 million hours and come with RECOM’s standard 3 year warranty.
The devices are compact with a low-profile case that is 17 mm high or less, and contain a fully featured input filter and meet EN55022 Class B EMC without the need for any external components. They offer 3 kV a.c. isolation and are CE and UL safety certified.
