SignalQuest’s SQ-XLD-01x is a factory calibrated, three-axis MEMS accelerometer with automatic peak capture and user-programmable alarm outputs. The alarm outputs are ideal for functions such as time stamping video recordings for future review.

The device is designed to operate as either a standalone sensor or it can be inserted between a GPS and a host without requiring an additional RS232 port. It uses advanced signal processing and statistical analysis methods to monitor and report acceleration information in an NMEA formatted sentence once per second.

Alarm thresholds are configured using a terminal emulator such as Microsoft Windows HyperTerminal. The user can configure independent thresholds for each channel and select between the ‘avg,’ ‘pk’ and ‘100mspk’ signals for each channel. A self levelling function removes tilt from threshold triggers to simplify installation. The sensor provides IP67 environmental protection and operates over a ±6 G range.
