The foot switch range from Marquardt has been extended with the new series 2420, designed to be applicable in harsh environments. As with the company’s existing parts, loads are switched with snap action switches which, in the new range, are totally encapsulated in the body so that a protection degree up to IP67 is realised.
The switches provide the ability for customers to attach the cable themselves while maintaining their IP rating. The distinctive haptics and clear tactile feedback were adopted from existing foot switch concepts, while latching switching functions are new to this series. Electrical ratings range from low-voltage (maximum 300 mW) with gold contacts up to 14 A and 16 A, 250 V a.c. and above on request. The switches exhibit endurance of more than 100 000 mechanical cycles.
A modular design allows customers to realise many different versions with regard to switching function, loads, pre-assembled cables or different surface colours. Customer-specific logos can also be captured on the switch surface on request. The base foot switch can additionally be equipped with a protective cover for user protection, which also makes the switch applicable in heavy-duty environments.
