Interconnection

Installation terminals

28 September 2011 Interconnection

Phoenix Contact’s new generation of installation terminals is tailored to the requirements of electrical installation and distributor construction. The terminals are available in various designs as three-level and N disconnect terminals with matching feed-through, disconnect and ground terminals. Conductors with cross sections ranging from 2,5 to 10 mm² can be connected, and the widths of the terminals start at 5,2 mm.

As a result of 50% lower insertion forces, rigid and flexible conductors from 0,34 mm² up to 4 mm² can be simply inserted without requiring any tools. The high contact forces exceed those stipulated by the relevant standards and ensure that reliable conductor contacts are established. The integrated button allows the connection to be released in an isolated fashion using any tool. The orange colour of the button clearly identifies it as an actuating element, thus preventing mistakes from being made.

A connection can be simply and reliably established to the PEN conductor busbar using the latching contact sliders with status display. Using the double function shafts, the L1-L2-L3 potentials can be easily multiplied as required, for example. Thus, complete three-phase wiring can be realised using just two terminal blocks. Easy-to-identify labelling surfaces and test sockets at each terminal point ensure transparency as well as straightforward and user-friendly service.

Every installation terminal line from Phoenix Contact with a screw, spring cage, or push-in connection is compatible with an NLS busbar. This enables various types of connectors and connector cross sections to be combined.
