Mean Well has launched the new HLN-40H/60H series of 40 W and 60 W LED power supplies whose mechanical design and insulated plastic enclosure allow them to attain IP64 waterproof/dustproof protection level. By comparison, with the casing removed and a miniature PCB design, the HLP-40H/60H series provide cost saving on mechanical parts.
The four new models are equipped with a three-in-one dimming function (1–10 V d.c., PWM, resistance) to fulfil the growing demands of energy-saving dimming applications. They also feature a built-in two-stage active PFC function, and comply with harmonic current limitation per EN61000-3-2 Class C (>60% load). They also fulfil PF > 0,9 if loading over 60% and possess 4 kV surge immunity (EN61000-4-5) which complies with the requirements of general lighting.
The power supplies boast up to 91% efficiency, allowing the HLN-40H/60H to be cooled by free air convection from -40°C to +50°C ambient temperature and the HLP-40H/60H to be operated from -40°C to +70°C. Besides standard protection functions for short circuit, over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature, the units adhere to global certificates per UL/CUL/TUV/CB/CE including UL8750 and EN61347-2-13 for lighting regulations.
