Mean Well has expanded its range of power supplies for LED lighting applications with the new HLG-40H (40 Watt) and HLG-60H (60 Watt) series. They each have four options (A/B/blank/ D type) with different functionality and input/output options.
The A type has two holes on the cover which allow users to adjust DC output from 60% to 100% of rated voltage without opening the case. The B type is equipped with a three-in-one dimming function
(1–10 V d.c., PWM, resistance). Through an additional signal output cable, it provides system designers with flexibility for dimming and energy saving designs.
The D type (optional) equips a timer dimming function. After powering up the system, this model will start up its internal timer controlled by an MCU with a preset counting program that allows up to three different timing periods (four different brightness levels) to be set to adjust the output current in each period. Upon customer request, the units can be pre-configured in terms of auto brightness adjustment and the brightness level in each period. Finally, the blank type has basic features without voltage and current adjustment.
Featuring a 90–305 V a.c. input range, the power supplies integrate a two-stage active PFC function and comply with harmonic current limitation per EN61000-3-2 Class C (>60% load). They also fulfil PF > 0,9 if loading over 60% and possess 4 kV surge immunity (EN61000-4-5) which complies with the requirements of street lighting.
Efficiency of the devices is up to 91% efficiency, allowing them to be cooled by free air convection from -40°C to +70°C ambient temperature. Besides standard protection against short circuit, over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature, the units comply with global certificates per UL/CUL/TUV/CB/CE including UL8750 and EN61347-2-13 for lighting regulations.
