New from Hamamatsu Photonics is a 100 mW CW single-chip laser diode with a very small emitting area of 5 μm and a centre wavelength of 1064 nm. The L11358 is a lateral single-mode type and adds to Hamamatsu’s increasing range of single-chip laser diodes, available at wavelengths from 685 nm to 1205 nm.
The device features very long lifetime characteristics and is available in 9 mm diameter CD packages, as well as side-out and head-out OHS packages. It is well suited to applications in the medical, analytical, industrial and printing industries where an almost ‘point source’ like laser is required.
Hamamatsu also offers a range of laser bar devices, supplied either as bare diodes or provided as a module, with CW powers up to 60 W per bar and a choice of water cooling, peltier cooling or Hamamatsu’s patented funryu cooling technology. Stacked bar arrays (with up to several kilowatts output power), fibre-optic coupling and a choice of other wavelength laser diodes are all available to specific customer request.
