Dual DACs

12 October 2011 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI

New from Texas Instruments is a family of dual 16-, 14- and 12-bit DACs with high precision and low power consumption. The DAC8562 family is suitable for space- and power-constrained systems such as wireless base stations, programmable logic control (PLC) analog output modules, motor control, precision instrumentation and portable medical equipment. The chips exhibit 0,1 nV-sec glitch energy, a maximum offset error of 4 mV, a maximum INL of 0,75 LSB at 12 bits and a maximum reference drift of 10 ppm/°C. They consume only 0,1 mA per channel and have an integrated precision reference that provides a 20 mA sink/source capability to eliminate the need for an external buffer.
