The DURIS E 5 from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors is an LED intended for the LED retrofit market and designed to achieve uniform distribution of light. With its broad colour temperature spectrum, high efficiency and natural colour rendering, it is well suited to the residential sector and to any other general illumination tasks.
The light emitting diode has a colour rendering index of 85 in all available colour temperatures and therefore achieve natural colour rendering. It is suitable for retrofits in the residential sector thanks to colour temperatures of 2700 and 3000 K, which are the same as the pleasant light from a classic light bulb. At 89 lm/W (3000 K) the LED is highly efficient.
The LEDs have a package size of 5,6 x 3 mm, which complies with industry standard 5630, and can be arranged tightly next to one another. Coupled with their beam angle of 120°, they offer a uniform appearance in a lamp with no shadows or visible points of light.
The DURIS E 5 is also available in colour temperatures of 4000 K, 5000 K, 5700 K and 6500 K, making it a versatile light source for a wide range of applications. With just one type of LED it is possible to create neutral white or cold white lighting – the kind of lighting that is often required in offices and shops. The LED can be installed in incandescent lamp retrofits, panel lights and downlights. They are suitable for the standard soldering process.
