Design Automation
Now you can replace your inflexible architecture with a complex programmable logic device (CPLD) solution that gives unprecedented flexibility and features. This is according to Atmel which is offering two free Atmel electronic design automation (EDA) software suites.
The Atmel ProChip Designer EDA suite incorporates Protel International's design tools with Atmel's proprietary user interface/design navigation and device-specific fitter software. With a full palette of design-entry options, ProChip Designer supports all Atmel simple and complex programmable logic device (SPLD and CPLD) products, both pre-fit functional and post-fit timing simulation, an on-line reference manual, tutorials, plus web-linked reference and assistance.
The ProChip Designer software suite includes the following tools and features:
* Design-entry options; integrated Protel schematic capture; VHDL; and CUPL.
* Synthesis; integrated Accolade PeakFPGA.
* Verification; integrated Accolade PeakVHDL; pre-fit and post-fit simulation.
* Place-and-route; second-generation Atmel fitters.
* Support; integrated on-line reference manual, tutorials and web-linked reference.
