The Mantis is an innovative low magnification viewer that offers eyepieceless viewing at X2, X4, X6, X8 and X10 magnification. With a true stereo image of superior resolution and brilliance and long working distance, Mantis can be used for a wide range of inspection and manipulation tasks such as quality checking, fine finishing, assembly, microwelding, soldering and dissection.
It is used widely in electronics, precision engineering, medical and dental manufacture, plastics, engineering and life sciences. Mantis reduces eye and posture fatigue and increases operator efficiency. It is also designed to be used with glasses or contact lenses if they are worn.
The Mantis Universal is a focusable, flexible stand for clamping or mounting on the work surfaces and is the most popular stand option. The rigid Mantis FX stand option with a focusing platform and sub-stage illumination as standard offer an alternative for customers who are working at the higher magnifications.
A range of accessories is available, including long life replacement lamps, desiccants to counter humidity and protective caps (when used to solder, weld or drill).
Mantis UV is available with a switchable ultra violet light source to inspect fluorescing conformal coating on PCBs and fluorescent washes or filings for nondestructive crack detection of aerospace and other engine and machined components.
