Altium has added a new range of board-level components from STMicroelectronics’ power management catalogue to its online content delivery ecosystem, AltiumLive.
The new content update includes STMicro components in the DC-DC conversion, switching regulator and voltage reference families – almost 300 parts in total. The new range adds to the ST components already available from the AltiumLive content store, which include the company’s STM8 and STM32 family of microcontrollers, sensors and MEMS-based devices.
Developed by the Altium content development centre in conjunction with STMicroelectronics, the new components include all the model information and data needed for instant use in Altium Designer – including real-time supply chain information such as vendor choice, pricing and availability.
Altium also announced new devices and updates to the board-level components from Altera’s Stratix IV FPGA and MAX V CPLD device families. The release coincides with the inclusion of Altera Stratix IV FPGA and MAX V CPLD device support in the latest update for Altium Designer 10.
Altium Designer includes comprehensive software support for the newly updated Altera devices, allowing their full integration into the programmable device design part of the electronics design flow. This provides the unique design conditions for working with a specific programmable device, such as pin configurations and I/O type, live communication protocols, synthesis and PCB pin swapping data, making the Altera devices ready for rapid deployment in Altium Designer projects.
