PIC development system

18 April 2012 Design Automation

The EasyPIC7 is a full-featured PIC microcontroller development system from MikroElektronika. It supports over 250 devices, including both 5 V and 3,3 V PICs.

Each port of the microcontroller is exposed via a 10-pin header (eight port pins, power and ground), with each port pin also connected to both an LED and a button, as well as an optional pull-up or pull-down resistor. A variety of add-on accessory boards are also available, which are easily connected to the development system via the 10-pin headers, or via the proprietary mikroBus connectors.

A number of peripherals are also included on the board, such as 7-segment, LCD and GLCD displays, touch-panel, USB, RS232, temperature-sensor connectors and more. An onboard programmer, with hardware in-circuit debugging support, and switched-mode power supply are also included on the board. Similar development systems are available for other microcontroller types, such as AVR, ARM or 8051.
