PinPoint Alpha is the latest addition to Diagnosys’ PinPoint family of testers and is aimed at the challenging electronic test environment of the industrial and commercial user. Compact and versatile, the system utilises a comprehensive suite of diagnostic tools to assist in repairing electronic assemblies as quickly and inexpensively as possible.
PinPoint Alpha helps users overcome the challenges in repairing electronic assemblies, including the lack of circuit schematics and documentation, long repair cycles and reliance on third parties. Many of the PinPoint Alpha tools allow quick troubleshooting and require no programming. However, where useful, easy test program creation and fault detection allow users to build low-cost test processes for volume work.
The system has three configurable slots available, allowing it to be tailored to exact requirements. With built-in flexibility and capability, multiple test techniques can be applied to ensure maximum test coverage and fault identification in a circuit. These techniques include in-circuit functional test, edge card functional test, boundary scan, passive and active analog testing, mixed-signal functional test, vectorless test, analog signatures and parametric testing.
Designed from the outset with modularity and scalability in mind, a fully tailored upgrade path is available to provide higher performance and capability when required. A seamless forward path to the PinPoint Sigma system with its 10 user-configurable slots is also available, making sure that even the most demanding circuits in the future can be thoroughly tested and faults diagnosed.
