The new SDX-550 and SDX-650 from Sunpower are PS II size power supplies with maximum 550 W and 650 W outputs, respectively. Their dual 12 V outputs (240 VA each) are designed to comply with safety requirements as well as to supply the high currents often required of 12 V buses. Other output voltages are 5 V, 3,3 V, -5 V,

-12 V and 5 V for the south bridge.

The SDX-550-G48 accepts input voltages in the range of 36 to 72 V (typical 48 V) while the SDX-650-G96 accepts 72 to 144 V inputs (typical 96 V). Both models feature a soft-start function; protection against reverse input polarity, over-voltage, overload and short circuit; power-good and PS-on signal outputs. They are subjected to a 100% full-load burn-in test and come with a three-year warranty.

The units have a newly designed metal chassis and low-noise 12 cm DC fan for better cooling, as well as a connector that allows connection of input wires easily, without additional tools. They are targeted at applications such as server systems, communications, industrial PCs and workstations.
