Harwin has expanded its EZ-BoardWare range of PCB hardware products with nine new EZ-Spring contacts. Also known as spring fingers or grounding contacts, they are designed for easy assembly onto PCBs, and are used as grounding or shielding contacts, in contact with metal frames or shields.
Suitable for both wiping and sliding action, the individual clips are supplied in tape and reel packaging for automated placement, and reduce manufacturing costs by eliminating time-consuming secondary assembly operations. The parts are available in a variety of different styles.
Uncompressed heights of between 1,7 mm and 7,0 mm provide excellent design flexibility, and good spring properties provide excellent electrical connection/grounding to be made between a PCB and various other electronic components – other PCBs, speakers, fans, aerials, shields etc. – even if the equipment is subject to vibration. A variety of plating finishes, including gold and tin, are offered.
EZ-Spring contacts are suitable for use in virtually all industry sectors across a wide range of products including mobile and smartphones, sat navs, MP3 players, cameras and video systems, tablet PCs, laptops, PCs, brown and white goods, medical and industrial equipment.
