Infrared receivers

19 September 2012 Opto-Electronics

Vishay broadened its optoelectronics portfolio with the introduction of remote control receivers. Devices in the new TSOP57x series (which includes the TSOP572.., TSOP573.., TSOP574.., and TSOP575.. devices) combine a low height of 0,8 mm with a wide angle of sensitivity of 150°.

The devices feature high sensitivity, resulting in a receiving distance of 40 m. They have no lens, yet they provide on-axis sensitivity equal to surface-mount receivers. At an off-axis angle of 45°, sensitivity is better than devices with a lens, retaining 85% of their on-axis sensitivity.

The receivers feature Vishay’s intelligent automatic gain control (AGC), providing high noise suppression in versions that include AGC2, -3, -4 and -5. They have peak sensitivity at 940 nm and are available in modulation frequencies of 36 kHz, 38 kHz, 40 kHz and 56 kHz.
