Handheld portable multiprogrammer

1 August 2001 Design Automation

The ChipBurner Portable from DeviceRama is an innovative handheld programmer that includes a 48-pin DIP, as well as a 32-pin PLCC socket. The EZW-P operates as a field portable standalone workstation. It can operate with a rechargeable battery pack for full field portability, or plug into any outlet. The EZW-P can also just as easily be hooked to any PC for full volume production using the industry's first Microsoft Windows based interface for device programmers - PROMSoft-XD. The company's multimatrix gate-array technology makes the EZW-P one of the fastest handheld programmers on the market today.

Unlike usual programmers, the EZW-P supports 24 through 48-pin DIP devices. An even greater difference is that no other handheld offers built-in support for 32-pin PLCCs - and without any need for adapters. It has E(E)PROM/Flash devices direct plug-in support, or via PLCC/PSOP/TSOP/SOIC adapters. Onboard rechargeable NiMH batteries allow up to six hours of continuous programming time, device dependant. The unit measures 20 x 11 x 3 cm.
