Actel has announced that MARGI Systems has selected Actel's A54SX08A field-programmable gate array (FPGA) device for the new Springboard module, the hardware module in its new 'Presenter-to-Go' product. MARGI Systems is a leading provider of multimedia products for mobile computing. The Presenter-to-Go product that enables business professionals to make PowerPoint presentations from a Handspring Visor without the use of a personal computer.
"We needed a logic integration device that offered hot-swap capabilities and low power consumption, and we needed it to be in a very small form-factor in order to meet the Springboard module design specifications," said Greg Springer, COO, MARGI Systems. "Actel's A54SX08A met these needs perfectly and provided a tremendous technology advantage for our design."

Hot-swapping is a capability important to many portable, consumer and networking applications that allows system boards to be exchanged while systems are running.
