Saftronics has introduced a digital micro soft starter, the Ranger – a 3–45 A unit which is specially designed for three-phase squirrel cage AC motors. The unit offers soft start and soft stop with adjustable timing and initial voltage, and significantly reduces electrical inrush current when the motor starts for motor and mechanical safety.
Applications include control systems for mini-motors operating in air-conditioning, refrigeration, freezing and pumping, providing quality load reduction and prolonging appliance motor life.
The compact, hardy structure of the unit offers convenient integration with control systems and with DIN rail mounting, it is easy to install and repair. Centralised adjustment switches enable easy, intuitive operation.
LED indicators enable monitoring of power supply, operational status and failure analysis, while a built-in bypass contactor reduces wastage and prolongs equipment life. Three trim potentiometers control ramp-up time, ramp-down time and initial starting voltage.
