Microchip wireless dev kit up for grabs

31 October 2012 News

Dataweek is offering readers the chance to win an 8-bit wireless development kit from Microchip.

The kit provides eXtreme Low Power (XLP) PIC microcontroller users with an easy-to-use platform for developing, evaluating and testing low-power, cost-effective embedded wireless connectivity. It features a pair of wireless PICtail daughter boards, two battery-friendly 8-bit XLP PIC MCU development boards and the ability to add additional nodes to create a larger wireless network.

This kit includes Microchip’s MRF24J40 transceiver module and taps the PIC18 XLP microcontroller family. The 2,4 GHz MRF24J40 is an easy-to-use evaluation and development platform for IEEE 802.15.4 application designers. The kit includes complete hardware needed to rapidly prototype wireless applications, and is pre-programmed with MiWi protocol stack with demo instructions in the user’s guide.

Microchip’s MiWi Development Environment (DE) provides a complete ecosystem for designing star and mesh wireless networking products. The MiWi DE comprises the company’s free, proprietary MiWi P2P, MiWi and MiWi PRO star and mesh networking protocol stacks; as well as the multi-purpose Wireless Development Studio (WDS) with cross-platform support for Linux, Mac OS and Windows operating systems.

The MiWi DE simplifies the development of ISM-band wireless networking applications for the home and industrial automation, wireless sensor monitoring and control, and smart energy markets.

Visit www.microchip-comps.com/dw-miwi to stand a chance to win one of these development kits.
