High-sensitivity current sensor

The LD-50 load detector/current sensor is part of API Technologies’ high-sensitivity range of current transformers designed for those applications where a low value of current is to be monitored. A primary winding is supplied which helps increase the sensitivity of the transformer.

The snap-on part mounts on pre-wired systems without disrupting existing connections. It covers a broad frequency range of 30 Hz to 15 kHz and measures currents up to 40 ARMS continuous, 120 A intermittent. The load detector is highly reliable and boasts an output linear to within 3% from 2 A to 20 A of the input. It is available pre-assembled or unassembled, to snap over existing wiring.

The LD-50 is well suited to low budget energy management and automation control, as well as monitoring relays and lamps, high/low current limits, instrumentation, solid state switchgear, motor control and more. It can operate in temperatures from -55°C to 120°C.
