The KM6-HD subrack from Verotec accepts 3U, 6U and 9U Eurocards up to 400 mm deep in both IEC60297 and IEE-E1101.10/11 configurations. This conforms with the specifications for major backplane architectures such as VMEbus, VXI, VME64x, VPX, VXS, cPCI and PXI. Rear extrusion adaptors are available for the direct mounting of DIN41612 connectors for non-backplane applications. In addition, 80 mm guides for rear transition cards, as well as 160 and 220 mm card guides, are available.
The system’s design provides a strong and rigid card cage, with high resistance to shock and vibration. Designed to meet the US MIL STD 167 standard, its main features include positive guide locking with optional screw-down retention; heavy-duty two-screw fixings for the tie-bar extrusions to give precision location and resistance to bowing or twisting; and 3 mm thick side plates and rack mounting angles for rigidity.
Electrical continuity to adjacent panels in the front and rear apertures is provided by an Iridite NCP conductive finish and slide-in double-swipe RFI continuity gaskets fitted to the 48 cm rack mounting angles and rear closing angles.
The side plates are solid, and solid top and bottom covers may be fitted to preserve EMC integrity. EMC vent pattern covers that facilitate cooling are also available. Front and rear closing panels provide a fully screened EMC environment, while inject/eject front panel handles, grounding clips, ESD clips and coding keys are available.
The system is compatible with the range of KM6-II accessories, which includes front panels, plug-in units and peripheral mounting assemblies. Optional heavy-duty handles are available for the rack mounting angles.
