Custom Printers’ third generation VKP80III self-service thermal printers are compact, sturdy and economical, both in installation and maintenance, and are backed by 20 years of experience in the kiosk, banking and self-service industries.
The easy-to-open cover allows easy access to the printing head, rolls and cutter.
The printer’s hot swap function allows it to be removed from the kiosk without switching it off. With a new high-performance processor and long-life printing head that also prints QR codes, the printer also has a patented anti-jamming system.
The adjustable roll support and ergonomic paper loading – from either the right or left side of the kiosk – make the VKP80III adaptable to any kind of kiosk. It has a paper presenter with ejecting and retracting functions, and a new patented feature which allows it to deliver the first ticket and print a second copy for data logging or tax recovery, which is collected in the kiosk without presenting it to the customer.
In addition to the usual sensors, the printer is equipped with new VeryNotch and TopNotch sensors which are able to read the black notch or the holes on the non-thermal side (VeryNotch) or the thermal side (TopNotch) of the tickets in any position.
The VKP80III can work in EcoGreen mode to reduce paper consumption and integrates an innovative auto-diagnosis of the printing head, which gives the percentage of non-working dots. The eO 3.0 version includes the patented Print&Read system which allows the printed ticket to be inserted in the same paper outlet and validated by reading the barcode. This is ideal for applications such as access control, parking, games and couponing.
The printer supports TrueType fonts and can also use special fonts such as Chinese and Cyrillic. In addition it allows up to 2 MB of logos and graphics to be updated or uploaded with a simple drag and drop. It is equipped with a status monitor to obtain remote feedback from the printer in an easy and effective way using Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit) or Linux.
