The SKY87250 μSwitcher step-down converter from Skyworks delivers up to 400 mA to support an adjustable 0,6 V to VIN output from a 2,7 V to 5,5 V input supply. It maintains a low 40 μA no-load quiescent current and its 2 MHz switching frequency minimises the output capacitance requirement while keeping switching losses low.
The device’s feedback and control deliver excellent load regulation and transient response with a small output capacitor and it maintains high efficiency throughout the load range. A unique low-noise light-load architecture produces reduced ripple and spectral noise. Over-temperature and short-circuit protection safeguard the SKY87250 and system components from damage.
The 8-pin, 2,4 x 2,4 mm DLN package converter footprint, integrated inductor and minimal capacitance requirements make the IC ideal for compact designs.
