A vector network analyser, in short, analyses all the electrical characteristics (including S-parameters) of an electronic device under test (DUT). The DUT can be a single component, a circuit of passive components such as a filter circuit or an RF antenna. VNAs are used in applications where radio frequency is involved, such as wireless communications, TV and FM broadcast, radar and Zigbee, as well as profiling of electronic components such as filters and semiconductor devices.
According to K Measure, Transcom’s VNAs operate up to 8 GHz and offer specifications similar to or better than other well-known instruments, but at a 40% cost saving. The analysers boast a large frequency range, large dynamic range, low noise level and low trace noise.
They also have some unique and innovative features, such as exporting measurement results to file for importation into electronic simulation (CAD) software and an ATE function for automated testing in a production line.
Transcom also has a line of communications testers for GSM, WCDMA, GPRS and LTE, which are also available through K Measure.
K Measure believes the Transcom range will provide African customers with quality and value for money. Transcom is very active in Asia and Europe and recently won the tender for Samsung’s training centres in South-East Asia.
K Measure offers the Transcom range with a two-year warranty with all labour free of charge and components capped at US$1200. The instruments are also available to rent at 1% per day and a VNA buy-back scheme is in place to provide customers with a discount for their old HP 8753E VNA.
