Advantech's MIC-3032/8 is a 9U high enclosure with eight CompactPCI slots for rack mounting. It supports H.11O CT bus and rear panel I/O for CTI applications, and the device bay accommodates peripheral devices such as hard disk drives, floppy disk drives and CD/DVD ROM drives.
The 6U sized eight-slot backplane supports 32 or 64 bit operation. Users can build hot-swap systems with hot-swappable CompactPCI boards and software. It is also possible to connect devices to the rear transition boards, while the front boards are free to be inserted and removed with no wiring problems.
A 2U space under the card slots accommodates three 86-CFM high-speed fans to provide forced cooling into the system. The fan's tachometer output enables the alarm module to monitor the speed of the fans. The device bay accommodates up to four devices and standard HDDs and FDDs can be installed.
An intelligent alarm module monitors and reports internal conditions such as temperature and voltage and displays the results on a LCD. PC-Sentry software is also supplied with the MIC-3032/8 to allow the system host to communicate with one or more alarm modules through the serial port for configuration, alarm level setting, realtime status display and alarm event logging.
