Another low profile surface mounting device has joined Murata's list of 'tiny' products. A new thin trimming potentiometer, as well as being small and light, contains no lead and is suitable for lead-free soldering. Terminals are gold-plated to give high solderability and good self-alignment. Two-part construction contributes superior quality.

A carbon resistive element provides the low profile and a special temperature-resistant resin substrate gives excellent resistance to soldering heat. The cross shaped drive plate allows for in-process automatic adjustment with easy trimming.

The footprint of Murata's single turn POZ2KN (new PUZ2K) measures 2,1 mm by 5,4 mm and weighs 12 mg. There are fourteen values from 500 Ohm to 1,0 MOhm, rated at 0,1 W up to 50°C, and operating from -25 to 85°C.

Murata also offers a top adjustment range, the POZ2AN. The POZ2 family is suited for many applications, including LCDs, optical pick-ups, wireless equipment, optical transceivers etc.
