Interconnection

Top-entry card edge connector

18 September 2013 Interconnection

In its continuing efforts to develop unique connectors for the industrial market, specifically as it relates to low pin count requirements, AVX has broadened its line of 1-piece card edge connectors with the 00-9159 Series top entry model which complements the bottom entry version released last year.

Available in 2 to 6 positions, this configuration will allow small perpendicular daughter cards to be plugged in from the top side of the main PCB. The single connector option offers an alternative to the more traditional and costly 2-piece solution.

This small connector offers features suited to a broad range of robust industrial applications. The 250 V a.c. contact system is gold plated for enhanced reliability, signal integrity and full 2 A per contact current rating. The printed circuit board opening is dual-slotted to accept either a 0,8 mm or 1,6 mm thick daughter card within the connector body.

The connector is packaged on tape and reel for automatic SMT placement and is rated over the -40°C to +120°C operating temperature range for harsh environments.
