Atollic upgrades TrueSTUDIO IDE

9 October 2013 Design Automation

Support for ETM/ETB instruction tracing is now much improved, including support for function tracing as well as trace start/stop trigger breakpoints. The SFR viewer now works in the editor without a debug session connected to the target board, and the user can add or edit SFR definitions if needed, for example to add support for SFR registers in peripheral devices.

The new TrueSTUDIO version also supports automatic downloading and installation of hundreds of third-party Eclipse plugins, such as the Freescale ProcessorExpert device configurator and code generator. By integrating ProcessorExpert into TrueSTUDIO, users get a powerful environment for editing, device configuration and code generation, compilation, debugging and testing for Freescale devices.

TrueSTUDIO v4.2 also includes improved target support, with improvements to devices and boards from many semiconductor vendors, including Atmel, Freescale, Infineon, Silicon Labs (formerly EnergyMicro), Spansion (formerly Fujitsu), STMicroelectronics and Texas Instruments. Notable improvements are better support for high-end processor families like Hercules TMS570 (Cortex-R), Vybrid and SAMA5D3 (Cortex-A5), i.MX5 (Cortex-A8) and i.MX6 (Cortex-A9).
