XP Power announced additions to its GCS series of single-output, high-efficiency AC-DC power supplies with both ITE and medical safety approvals. Complementing the GCS150 150 Watt models, the GCS180 range extends the power output capability up to 180 Watts. All models in the range have no-load input power of less than 0,5 W and a typical efficiency of 93%.
The GCS180 series is available in multiple mechanical formats giving the designer several mounting configurations to choose from to suit the end application. Convection cooled formats, providing up to 150 W output, are in an industry standard 127 x 76,2 mm open frame package; an optional enclosed cover option is also available. The full 180 W output is available when a forced air flow of only 7 CFM is provided by the user or by using the optional top- or end-mounted fan formats.
Across the range, five single-output models are available covering the popular nominal outputs of +12, +15, +24, +28 or +48 V d.c. An additional 12 V/0,6 A fan output is standard. Designers also have the choice of using an input earth connection or not due to the Class I and Class II input construction used. A remote on/off feature is available across the range by specifying the –R option.
The GCS180 series meets the Class B limits of EN55011 and EN55022 for conducted emissions and Class A limits for radiated emissions with no additional filtering components required. With a wide range of operating temperature, from –40°C to +70°C, the units can be used in most environments, with no derating required below +50°C.
