Mean Well has fleshed out its RSP family with new 100 W (RSP-100) and 500 W (RSP-500) models featuring power factor correction.
Compared to the preceding SP-100 series, the RSP-100 series lowers height, reduces volume by 33% and increases efficiency by 8%. The working temperature range of -30°C to +50°C (up to +70°C with suitable derating) is also superior to the -10°C to +60°C of the SP-100.
Requiring only free air convection cooling and with a 1U (30 mm) profile, these units have a 85 – 264 V universal AC input range and provide 3,3 – 48 V output voltage options. Built-in functions include remote ON/OFF control, short circuit, overload, over-voltage and overtemperature protection.
The RSP-100 series complies with global safety regulations per UL, CUL, TUV, CCC, CB and CE, and has passed TUV EN61558-2-16 requirements for household electrical appliances. Applications include industrial automation, mechanical and electrical equipment, household appliances, or any other systems that require 1U low-profile installations.
The new RSP-500 series also improves upon its predecessor – the SP-480 – by being 22,1% smaller in size and up to 8% more efficient. It features the same extended temperature range, input voltage range and output voltage options as the new RSP-100, and comes in an 1U profile of 40,5 mm.
Integrated functions include remote sense, remote ON/OFF control and fan speed control, as well as protection against short circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature. They comply with UL, CUL, TUV, CB and CE regulations, and are suitable for general industrial control systems, mechanical and electrical industry, instruments, LED displays and more.
