Texas Instruments released a new series of MSP430 industrial microcontrollers (MCUs) integrated with smart analog and -40°C to +105°C temperature capability for industrial and smart grid applications such as occupancy sensors, remote temperature and pressure transmitters, power monitoring and many more. The MSP430i204x series integrates up to four sigma delta analog-to-digital converters that provide accuracy down to 1% in smart metering products across a 2000:1 dynamic range. They also include an internal digitally controlled oscillator that eliminates the need for an external crystal.
