Delivering up to double the power density of conventional DC-DC converters, Vicor’s ChiP DCMs enable power engineers to conserve valuable board space. The isolated, regulated DC-DC converter modules can be utilised for a wide range of applications requiring high power density and thermal management flexibility. This product platform spans DC-DC conversion requirements from 12 V to 420 V input and 12 V to 55 V output.
Two pre-configured ChiP DCMs were launched recently. The first is a 46 x 23 mm, 600 W model with nominal 290 Vin and 13,8 Vout for applications such as HV Li-Ion battery to 12 V systems. The second is a 36 x 23 mm, 320 W ChiP DCM with 16 - 50 Vin range and nominal 28 Vout, optimised for 28 V MIL-COTS systems. They provide up to 75,9 W/cm³ power density and 93% efficiency, with parallel array capability of up to eight units.
