Mobile radio expo to host complementary seminars

The upcoming Professional Mobile Radio Association (PMRA) Expo, running from 16 to 17 October at Kyalami Conference and Exhibition Centre, will feature a range of topical seminars for the local wireless and radio industry.

The seminars will cover the following topics: Day one: 10h00 The status of TETRA and future plans for South Africa by Dr Angus Hay, Transtel. This will be followed by a talk on the technical aspects of TETRA by a Marconi engineer at 11h00. At 14h00 'The many faces of amateur radio - from technology development to operacy for learners to meaningful edutainment for seniors' by Hans van de Groenendaal, South African Radio League. Day two: 07h30 PMR Biennial General Meeting. 10h00 Feedback on TETRAPOL by Pierre-Antoine Legagneur, ESDN. 14h00 HF radio communication as a viable alternative to satellite-based communications for routine messaging by Marc Lurie, LA Radio.
