ERNI Electronics has further improved the robustness and reliability of its D-Sub SMT connector range with a new series featuring secure mounting accessories to protect from inappropriate handling, ie, from pulling out of nuts and bolts or from the metal housing stripping.
Large surface soldering brackets ensure a high retention force on the board, which is a key criterion for SMT components. In addition a double shield connection has been created which ensures a reliable continuous grounding contact between the board and the metal protection collar.
The robust D-Sub series with male and female connectors is available with Eurostyle (3,6 mm) assembly heights and 9, 15 and 25 pins. The mounting accessories on the mating side are thread and bolt (M3 and 4-40). On the terminal side the mounting options are solder brackets.
Also new is an ultra-slim version reducing necessary board space to only 33% of the conventional model. This robust connector is perfectly suited for industrial I/O interfaces and is available in a right angled, 9-pin version. Additional solder pegs assure reliability against mechanical stress. The plugs and sockets are provided in tape-and-reel packaging qualified for fully automated board assembly and modern reflow soldering processes.
