To ensure reliable contacting of printed circuit boards which are contamin-ated with residues and/or oxidised from the soldering process, a wide range of ICT test probes is available from PTR.
These series for 50, 75 and 100 mil spacing are available with different aggressive tip styles, and a variety of possible contact pressures to a maximum of 5 N meets the most demanding requirements.
The product range has been amended with new HPL (high pre-loaded) test probes which offer better penetration of contaminants and enable better signal transfer even in lead-free applications. They do not increase stresses on the unit under test or the test fixture, and the same probe travel is maintained as with the standard series.
Despite the lack of solder on the test points, the new test probes provide secure contacting and satisfy all the test requirements for lead-free boards.
