Everlight Electronics announced the introduction of a new single-channel, 3,3 V, 15 Mbps logic gate optocoupler in an 8-pin SOP package for use in industrial applications.
The EL071L consists of an infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a CMOS detector IC. An SMD device, it is packaged in a small outline for ease of use in designs with limited PCB real estate. Due to its fast data transmission rate, it is well suited for serial and fieldbus interface isolation in industrial applications, including data transmission for line receivers, data multiplexing, switching power supplies, pulse transformer replacement, computer peripheral interface and high-speed logic ground isolation.
Other important features include both 3,3 V and 5 V CMOS compatibility, a high CMR of more than 10 000 V/μs for anti-interference, and 10 kV/s minimum common mode transient immunity. The device operates from -40°C to 110°C and features a high isolation voltage between input and output of 3750 Vrms.
