The ST-5S from Ideal-Tek provides an R-L-C meter in a set of tweezers, featuring a direct precision SMD probe with field replaceable tips, convenient one-handed operation and a built-in lithium ion battery. It performs auto ranging and fully automatic measurement of capacitance, inductance, resistance, voltage, continuity and diode polarity.
Two displays are provided – the main one shows the present reading while the other can display additional parameters or measurement conditions. A bar graph on the main display provides an analog indication of the measured input and, in the case of AC voltage measurement, a trace graph gives an oscilloscope-like view of the signal. A jog dial allows the user to choose modifiers for a selected function or change settings.
