Test & Measurement
SmartScope is a mobile test instrument that connects via USB to any platform running Windows, OSX, Linux, Android or jailbroken iOS. Made by LabNation and brought to life thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, it functions as an oscilloscope (2 channels), logic analyser (8 channels) and arbitrary wave generator (1 analog, 4 digital channels).
The oscilloscope features a 30 MHz bandwidth and 100 MSps sampling on each channel, with 8-bit precision and a memory depth of 4 million samples per channel. The logic analyser supports 3,3 V and 5 V logic, 100 MSps sample rate, and integrates user-extensible protocol decoders for I²C, SPI and UART.
With a 2048 sample output buffer, the wave generator’s 0–3,3 V analog output is generated at a rate up to 50 MSps, with a maximum slew rate of 30 ns/V and in 13 mV steps. Digital outputs are selectable between 3,3 V and 5 V, at data rates up to 100 MSps.
Weighing just 158 grams and housed in a 110 x 64 x 24,2 mm aluminium case, SmartScope can record waveforms in Matlab (.mat) or Excel (.csv) files through Dropbox.
