The E0C88F360 is an 8 bit micro-controller with embedded flash memory, data SRAM and dot matrix LCD display, providing a complete system-on-chip solution for many of today's handheld devices and instrumentation applications.
The first MCU from Epson to incorporate flash ROM (60 KB) and LCD driver capability on one chip, it has very low power consumption of 3 mA in stand-by mode. The dot matrix LCD driver has a separate 3,216 bit display RAM giving up to four rows of 32 5 x 5 characters and a built-in LCD voltage levels. A supply voltage detection circuit automatically compensates the display for battery voltage variations and contrast can be controlled by software. Peripherals include serial I/O, three timers, 4-channel A/D, 2-channel analog comparators, watchdog, sound generator, I/O ports and an interrupt controller. The E0C88xx family of CMOS microcontrollers has a common instruction set and a full in-circuit emulator and optimised C-compiler are available.
