CyberOptics has released the Imagenation PXR frame grabber for standard analog, precision monochrome machine vision applications. A single-channel precision monochrome PCI format frame grabber, the Imagenation PXR800 is particularly suited to applications within highly automated manufacturing and inspection processes where there is a need for image precision and realtime accuracy.
The Imagenation PXR800 works with up to four multiplexed cameras (an extender board can allow third and fourth camera capability) and supports RS170(NTSC), CCIR (PAL), progressive scan and resettable cameras on the same board, at up to 14,75 MHz. The frame grabber offers superior input/output (I/O), with separate exposure and strobe controls that allow users to set image exposure separate from lighting controls, giving customers valuable control over the environment, external events and ambient light in order to get the optimal image capture. The four separate triggers also allows users to monitor different events in different locations along the process and switch between them automatically. The addition of eight general-purpose I/O (4 TTL inputs, 4 TTL outputs) lines allows the frame grabber to control other elements in the manufacturing process.
Imagenation PXR800's unique combination of first-in, first-out (FIFO) dual-mode direct memory access (DMA) - both burst and incremental - with 8 MB of on-board memory, ensures the grab of the entire image desired. Burst DMA allows the entire images to be transferred in about 4 ms, but the availability of incremental DMA means that users who want the flexibility to access to the video data as it is first available, can have it. The board supports all standard analog cameras. Precise image digitisation is made possible by low pixel jitter (±2,6 ns) and noise levels (<0,5 of LSB)
Factory/manufacturing automation designers will appreciate the Imagenation PXR800's ImageInfo, an Imagenation feature that allows users to 'stamp' images with time and environment status information. The PXR800 includes a variety of sample applications that allow new users to quickly grab and display images in realtime, use multiple camera or boards, handle the LUT, control offset and gain, and set a region of interest. Supports: Visual C/C++; and OSs Win 98/98-SE/2000/ME/NT4/XP.
