Bus plugs with quick connection system

21 November 2001 Electronics Technology

A newcomer in the range of plug connectors with quick connection features from Phoenix Contact is the Quix QC1 bus plug, offered with 5,0 mm pitch. Using this plug it is possible to loop conductors from one module to the next without breaking contact. This means that when one plug is pulled out, all the other modules remain functional.

To connect the plug, the conductors are simply laid in the wire guide, without any need for cutting or stripping of insulation. The plugs are available with from two to six pins.

The Quix quick connection method permits time savings of up to 60%: the conductor is simply cut to length and laid in place, and the wire guide is closed. The Quix plugs can handle conductor cross-sections of 0,34-0,75 mm2 and 0,5-1,0 mm2 at 5,08 mm pitch.
