Littelfuse has introduced the SMF4L, 400 W TVS diode, which is designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events.
Provided in a small-footprint, flat lead, low-profile plastic SOD-123FL package with a board footprint of just 3,10 x 2,0 mm, the SMF4L is 50% smaller than SMA. Its maximum height profile of just 0,98 mm and 400 W @ 10/1000 s peak pulse power dissipation capability allows it to fit neatly into transient voltage protection applications where compact design is critical.
Applications for the SMF4L include protection of portable devices/hard drives, notebooks, VCC busses, POS terminals, SSDs, power supplies and monitors.
