XP Power announced additions to its range of wall mounted plug-in power supplies with the launch of the VEL and VER series, providing a wide range of power levels and meeting the energy efficiency and no-load requirements of the new DoE Energy Efficiency Level VI and the EU CoC Tier 2 standards.
Complementing the recently released 5 and 12 Watt models, both series are available in 18, 24 and 36 Watt single-output models. All the popular nominal output voltages of 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 V d.c. are available, with the 18 Watt models also providing a 5 V d.c. output unit.
The VEL series is available with a fixed input plug configuration accommodating US, UK or EU format, while the VER models are provided with a set of US, UK, EU and Australian interchangeable input plugs. The output is delivered through an industry standard 2,1 x 5,5 x 12 mm barrel jack on a 1,5 m cable.
The units are approved to the international IEC/EN/UL/cUL 60950-1 safety standards for IT equipment, and comply with the Class B limits of EN55022 for both conducted and radiated emissions. All models are approved as a limited power source (LPS) so that, should any faults occur, the output power is limited to a safe level. Also, with their Class II construction, no separate earth/ground connection is required. They can be used across the range 0°C to +60°C, with full power available up to +45°C.
