The Atlas DCA55 from Peak Electronic Design is a semiconductor component analyser that can be used to identify the type and pinout of almost any discrete semiconductor.
The device works by simply connecting a component in any orientation, followed by a press of the test button, whereupon it presents detailed component information in concise, easy to read, scrollable pages. The displayed information includes the component type, special component features, component pinout, and measured parameters such as gain, leakage current, gate threshold voltages, volt drops etc.
Supported parts include transistors (germanium and silicon), Darlingtons, MOSFETs, junction FETs (only gate pin identified), low-power thyristors and TRIACs, LEDs (including bicolour types), and diodes and diode networks.
