Korean manufacturer of industrial X-ray inspection systems and scanning electron microscopes, SEC, recently launched its new SF160-series X-ray inspection machines, featuring the new NTI Hybrid X-Ray tube. The SF160 is a 160 kV high-performance, micro-focus open tube X-ray inspection system, used for non-destructive analysis of semiconductor, SMT and electronic/electric components, and has a focal spot size of 0,8 μm.

The new NTI tube has a built-in power source, resulting in the elimination of the HT-cable, reducing maintenance requirements. The filament of the new tube has a life span of 10 000 hours, which translates to more than 1 year even with continuous X-ray scanning.
